Getting to watch Chris in Seattle was something that words can’t express. My heart is so full of joy at what this experience has done for him. This team turned into family right before our eyes and I know Chris is truly changed forever because of it. Thank you to Coach G and Tackett. I know a thank you will never be enough to express my gratitude for your time and compassion. --“Chris Mom”I know the phrase can often be overused however I truly believe that this was a life changing experience for both William and Emma! I can see how that experienced caused growth in their heads and in their hearts! I will forever be grateful for that opportunity! --Sandy Brown
"Unified sports has changed our son. It's taught him
teamwork, inclusion, supporting others, control of his anger, and what it feels
like to work hard. Getting to participate in the Special Olympics Games and
then coming away with a silver medal was the experience of a lifetime for our
entire family." - Laurel
I was fortunate to be able to attend the USA games in Seattle. Watching Cody and his teammates play teams from all over the US and then winning the silver medal was very emotional. It’s was an experience I’ll treasure forever. Cody loves sports and always wanted to play, but never could at school, until Roman Gonzales started the Unified Sports. Playing with the team was so much fun for Cody and helped him achieve many things I never thought possible.

Look at the abilities, not disabilities”
Our trip to Seattle Washington for the USA Games was a
once in a lifetime experience. We left Fresno, and spent a total of 8 days
together traveling, playing, shopping, and bonding. We played Monday through
Thursday with 2 games a day and competed against teams from Utah, Arizona,
Kansas, Washington, and Southern California. After the third day we were 6-0,
beating every team we played. Our team was so proud to be undefeated. Day four
was the Final Championship against Washington, we were playing for the gold medal
in the USA games. That was obviously the toughest game we had come across so
far, considering we had barely beat the team the day before. Unfortunately, the
game did not play out in our favor and we lost 1-0. We went to the medal
ceremony right after where we received a silver medal. Words cannot explain all
the emotions we were experiencing. We were first devastated and upset but then
proud. In addition to our victory on the field, our biggest accomplishment was
bonding as a team. We roomed together, ate together, played together; we did
everything together. We enjoyed getting to know our teammates and coaches, and
we established friendships that will last for the rest of our lives.
