AWARDS AND HONORS
CSF LIFETIME MEMBER:
Eligible students become members of CSF by submitting applications based on their report card grades. Membership is for one semester, and student must apply by the deadline. To become a LIFETIME MEMBER, a senior must be members for four of the last six semesters of high school, one of which is in their senior year. Faith Younglund is the CSF Advisor
[email protected]NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY (NHS):
NHS is a nationwide organization for high school. Students must submit an application at a designated date in the Fall. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. For more information please contact Tina Wood.
[email protected]VALEDICTORIAN: The Valedictorian(s) Award will be given to all graduates who earn straight A’s in their first seven semesters.
SALUTATORIAN:
The Salutatorian(s) Award will be given to all graduating seniors who have earned all A’s and one B in seven semesters. A student who substitutes a grade by repeating a course will not qualify for the Salutatorian or Valedictorian Award.
ACADEMIC SCHOLARS OF DISTINCTION:
Students who complete a minimum of five (5) advanced placement courses and earn at least at 4.15 grade point average on the UC/CSU weighted grading system will be introduced at the graduation ceremony.
CALIFORNIA SEAL OF BILTERACY:
To qualify student must complete all ELA requirements for graduation with a 2.0 in those classes, pass the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress for English language arts, or any successor test, administered in grade eleven, at or above the “standard met” achievement level, or at the achievement level determined by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI) for any successor test, and demonstrate proficiency in one or more language in addition to English, demonstrated through one of the following methods:
o Pass a foreign language AP exam with a score of 3 or higher
o Complete a four-year high school course of study in a world language and attainment of an overall GPA of 3.0 or above in that course of study
o Pass the SAT II Subject Foreign Language Examination with a 600 or higher
