Students in seventh and eighth grade explore life, physical, Earth, and space science phenomena in line with NGSS (Next Generation Science) standards. Based on math placement and recommendations, some seventh-grade students may be enrolled in Advanced Science 7 (Science 7 and 8 in one year of instruction). Students must be concurrently enrolled in Advanced Math 7 to be considered for Advanced Science 7. Eighth grade students may be enrolled in Science 8 or, based on recommendation and placement, Advanced Science 8 (Biology). Students must be concurrently enrolled in Advanced Math 8 to be considered for Advanced Science 8.
All students receive practice with Science Engineering Principles (SEPs), study habits, critical analysis skills, and lab techniques necessary to prepare them for high school science.
