Online Learning Information

There are two types of Online Learning Options available this fall.  These choices are for those students who wish to remain with online instruction even after traditional face-to-face instruction resumes at the school site.  Families that selected “traditional face-to-face” on their Annual Information Update will automatically receive a “scheduled” virtual option until “traditional face-to-face” resumes.  A “flexible” online option is not available for these students because it requires a semester commitment at the secondary level and a quarterly commitment at the elementary level.  With that time commitment students would not be able to immediately return to “traditional face-to-face” instruction once it becomes available.

Online Options

Grades TK-6

1. SCHEDULED VIRTUAL
• Starts the first day of school
• Parents will commit to a final option once face to face instruction resumes
• Students follow a school day schedule using technology and other instructional resources
• Instruction delivered in real-time through Zoom by a Clovis Unified teacher
• Online at-home learning using Clovis Unified adopted curriculum aligned to state standards
• Students can participate in co-curricular activities and athletics if they meet regular eligibility requirements
2. FLEXIBLE ONLINE
• Starts the first day of school
• Parents commit to this option for at least the first quarter
• Clovis Unified teacher available for support from 8 am-3:30 pm weekdays
• Students are expected to log-on at least once per day during regular school hours with their CUSD teacher at a prearranged time
• Curriculum is paced on a weekly basis by Clovis Unified teacher
• Parents help facilitate the program
• Families establish their own learning schedule 24/7
• Curriculum: Accelerated Education (TK-5) & Edgenuity (6th)

Grades 7-12

1. CLOVIS UNIFIED CONNECT (SCHEDULED)

• Starts the first day of school   
• Parents can commit to a final option once face to face instruction resumes

• Instruction delivered in real-time through Zoom by Clovis Unified teachers
• Online at-home learning using Clovis Unified adopted curriculum aligned to state standards
• Students can participate in school site co-curricular activities and athletics if they meet regular eligibility requirements

 

2. FLEXIBLE ONLINE

• Starts the first day of school
• Semester-long commitment
• Only offered during the first semester of the 2020-21 school year
• Clovis Unified teacher available for support from 8 am-3:30 pm weekdays
• Students are expected to log-on at least once per day during regular school hours with their CUSD teacher at a prearranged time
• Edgenuity Curriculum is paced on a weekly basis by Clovis Unified teacher
• Families establish their own learning schedule 24/7

• Option to return to face-to-face in-school learning at start of semester 2 (January 2021) if all first semester courses have been completed
