Testing

PSAT Test:

The PSAT test, is a practice test for the SAT exam.  We encourage 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th graders to take this exam in preparation for the SAT.  This test provides an excellent opportunity to participate in a National testing program, and can be an effective diagnostic tool.  There is no passing score for this test.  

 The benefits of taking the PSAT Test are:

  • A practice test for the SAT Reasoning Test;
  • An avenue for connecting students to colleges and scholarship organizations;
  • A comprehensive report with information about every question – including correct answers, student responses, and difficulty level, along with student’s own test booklet.
  • Last day to register for PSAT: September 15, 2017
  • Exam date:
    • PSAT Testing for 8th grade- October 17, 2017
    • PSAT Testing for 9th thru 11th grade- October 25, 2017
  • Please return 9th & 10th grade PSAT registration form and fee to Mrs. Nixon in the Library by Friday, September 15, 2017.  Mrs. Nixon is available to receive the registration form & payment before school, during lunch, and after school.

For the 2017-18 school year, Clovis Unified has made a commitment to pay for ALL 8TH and 11TH GRADE STUDENTS to take the PSAT (practice SAT).  All 8th graders will automatically be signed up to take the PSAT on October 17th, free of charge.  All 11th graders will automatically be signed up to take the PSAT on October 25th, free of charge.  If you have any questions, please contact the Counseling Center at 327-5056.



 

EDGE SAT Test Prep

 

  • FALL EDGE class 2017 Session Only (Fall registration will be available in August 2017)

    • Class sessions: September 18, 20, 25 & 27

    • Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

    • Cost: $95.00

    • Payment/registration is online at gettheedgeprep.com

    This optional course will help you improve your PSAT and SAT scores. Space is limited; priority will be given to juniors and seniors, so it is recommended that students get signed up for the course as soon as possible.  Students who would like to take this course must have completed Math 2Last day to register is September 8, 2017.   


ASPIRE Test:

The ASPIRE test, is a practice test for the ACT exam.  We encourage 9th, 10th, and 11th graders to take this exam in preparation for the ACT.   

The benefits of taking the Aspire Test are:                

  • A practice test for the ACT 
  • Measure of College and Career Readiness
  • Addresses questions about the strengths and weaknesses of your student in four academic areas: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science
  • Allows students to determine if they are on target for college readiness as they prepare to take the ACT test and engage in college planning
  • Exam date: October 26, 2017
